Personas

Personas are pretty difficult to complete with my target audience due to their age, and restrictions that poses on me. Therefore it is important to note that these personas are based on questions asked by teacher and parents and passed on to me.

While important, the childs persona isn’t the only relevant one in this situation as parents are also revelant personas as they are the ones who will allow their child to use technology, or purchase products for their child.

The mother works hard to earn a living to support her family, she likes to see her daughter happy and will do what she can to keep her entertained. That said, she wants to make sure her child is doing something reasonably productive, even if it is while she is playing a game. You can see the persona for the mother here;

The daughters persona is much different, as while she works hard at school to impress her parents, and for her own benifit, she much more appreciates her down time. She wants to relax and have fun, anything like learning doesn’t seem like a great use of her down time. As she has no/little sense of the value of money, she relies no her mother to provide her toys and luxuries. You can see the persona for the daughter here;

Personas

The personas for the content management system were valuable as it meant I as able to understand some of the weeknesses of the service My… provides.  I spoke with the manager of the business and also one of his staff who frequently uses the service. This is what they had to say about the service.EmployeeManager

Persona

Understand the user is vital to creating immersive experience to suit them. With research, discovering my target audience would be adults between 24 and 45 years old, I need to create a website that is accessible and easy to use whilst still creating desire to attend the exhibition. Also it is worth noting that to create a suitable marketing campaign, it is absolutely vital that I fully understand my target audience.

To maximize the sales of the exhibition, the success of the website, I must concentrate on marketing meaning that I create a brand around the exhibition and get people talking about it, something that was suggested by top marketer Sean Dromgoole at his TedX talk about “the future of marketing”.

Since the purpose and goals of the site were to sell exhibition tickets, I needed to cover as broader spectrum as possible therefore it was important to keep the audience very diverse in gender, age, education level and work experience. I would need the user to visit the site for the purpose of finding out more about the exhibition but then to buy tickets while they were there. For this reason I need the site to work on every device and every browser in aim to stop myself from loosing sales beside on the website design and build. The user will be one of two categories, encouraged by the element of making money by turning base metals to gold and the other group would simply be interested in learning more about alchemy on a factual level.

Understand the user is vital to creating immersive experience to suit them. With research, discovering my target audience would be adults between 18 and 26 years old, I need to create a application that is accessible and easy to use whilst still creating interest in the exhibition.

To maximize the amount of people visiting the exhibition, the success of the exhibition experience, I must concentrate on marketing meaning that I create a brand around the exhibition and get people talking about it, something that was suggested by top marketer Sean Dromgoole at his TedX talk about “the future of marketing”.

The purpose of this application is to create a more immersive experience for people visiting a museum. It should cater too all ages and genders, people with little and large amounts of education. It should allow people from all types of professional backgrounds to enjoy the exhibition. The application should be designed and built in such a way that the user doesn’t need any previous experience using technology to use it.

Getting people through the door in the first place is the hardest step, this must start outside of the from door.

There has to be lots of information available but not lots of reading.

The route must be set but allow users to experience the information at their own pace.
